Jasbant Singh Group Managing Editor, Media Prima News and Current Affairs

Jasbant brings with him three decades of experience in the various branches of journalism, namely print, television and digital news portals, at local and international media organisations.

He started his career in Bernama in 1983, covering various beats including politics and sports in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Ipoh.

After eight years with the national news agency, Jasbant moved to broadcast journalism, joining TV3 as a reporter before rising to become the station's Head of News and later its Deputy Current Affairs Manager.

Jasbant joined a local English daily before joining the Associated Press ("AP") as a journalist. He marked his five-year stint at AP with extensive reporting on the terror threat in Southeast Asia following the 9/11 attacks and covered important regional conferences in Malaysia and abroad.

In 2006, Jasbant moved to Al Jazeera English TV network, working as a news producer at the station's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, covering major events locally and abroad.

Jasbant was also Free Malaysia Today ("FMT")'s Managing Editor for three years, after serving as the portal's Bahasa Malaysia section editor. He previously led MPTN's news operations to ensure TV3, TV9, 8TV and DidikTV KPM stay ahead of the game.

Jasbant holds a Malaysian Higher School Certificate (HSC).
